2008/2009 Projects

Together with the communities we support we have identified three projects as our top needs for the current school year 2008/2009.  Each project is a unique opportunity to invest in sustainable improvements in education for thousands of Cambodian children.

The projects are:

Construction of Classrooms & Library at Phoum Stung Primary School

What:   Construction of 4 furnished classrooms and a library at Phoum Stung Primary School

Impact:  Improved learning environment and facilities for current enrolment of 493 students, the ability to accommodate an increasing number of children from Phoum Stung and Tha Phork communities, and the opening of a kindergarten

Principal, Teacher, and School Support Committee Training

What:  Training for 9 school administrators, over 50 primary school teachers and school support committee members at 5 schools in 2009

Impact:  Improved quality of education for nearly 2,500 students, improved school management and teacher motivation at 5 primary schools, and improved accountability between 5 schools and the communities they serve

Construction of Classrooms at Khnar Primary School

What:  Construction of 4 furnished concrete classrooms and a school office at Khnar Primary School

Impact:  Improved learning environment and facilities, through the replacement of old, rotting wooden classrooms, for nearly 700 students
